A raid i'm sêl?

A raid i'm sêl, oedd farwor tanllyd
  Unwaith dros dy ogoniant gwiw,
A charedigrwydd fy ieuenctid,
Fynd yn oerach at fy Nuw?
Breswylydd mawr yr uchelderau,
  Yn awr datguddia'th wyneb llon,
A diddyfna fy enaid bellach
  Oddi ar fronnau'r greadigaeth hon.

A raid i'm sêl, oedd farwor tanllyd
  Unwaith at d'ogoniant gwiw,
Caredigrwydd fy ieuenctid,
Fyn'd yn oerach at fy Nuw?
Preswylydd mawr yr uchelderau,
  Datguddia wedd
      dy wyneb llon,
Nes dyrchafu fy serchiadau
  Oddiar bethau'r ddaear hon.

Must my zeal, that was fiery coals,
  Once for thy worthy glory,
And the love of my youth,
  Become colder towards my God?
Great dweller in the supreme heights,
  Now reveal thy cheerful face
And wean my soul henceforth
From the breasts of this creation.

             - - - - -

Must my zeal, that was fiery coals,
  Once toward thy worthy glory,
The love of my youth,
  Become colder toward my God?
Great dweller in the heights,
  Reveal the countenace
      of thy cheerful face,
Until my affection rise up
Away from the things of this earth.
tr. 2007 Richard B Gillion
My zeal that once was burning brightly
  With youth's love - a worthy flame -
Must it now cool and lose its ardour?
  Cease to glorify God's name?
From heav'n, thy dwelling place exalted,
Now reveal thy face of love,
To wean my soul henceforth forever
From earth's ties to thee above.

Using the same metre as Hodges:

Must the light that burned so brightly
With youth's love now lose its flame?
Must my heart to God grow colder,
  Cease to glorify his name?
Dweller in the highest heaven,
  Now reveal thy
      cheering face;
From earth's love free me forever,
Wean me from its breasts by grace.
tr. 2007 Richard B Gillion

Also:

Must my zeal that for thy glory?
tr. H A Hodges 1905-76
